Father we bless your Name and raise the voices of our praise to be heard throughout the earth! You hold our lives in your hands and will not allow our feet to slip. The is the eve of our greatest celebration! Tomorrow we exalt your victory over death! I was your willingness to be our “protective sacrifice” that bought our Redemption, but when you defeated the powers of death you sealed the deal lock stock and barrel!
As the hymnist proclaimed,
“Heralds of Christ, who bear the King’s commands immortal tidings in your mortal hands, pass on and carry swift the news you bring; make straight, make straight the highway of the King. Through desert ways, dark fen, and deep morass, through jungles, sluggish seas, and mountain pass, build now the road, and falter not, nor stay; prepare across the earth the King’s highway. Lord, give us faith and strength, the road to build, To see the promise of the day fulfilled, when war shall be no more, and strife shall cease upon the highway of the Prince of Peace.”
Oh Jesus, precious Lamb of God, victor and Lord, allow your Spirit to fill us with worship tomorrow. Allow our spirits to become overwhelmed with your power and presence. You are our King and we shout with joy even during the night. Let us experience your Kingdom in our thoughts, dreams and imaginations. What we want to learn is how we can worship you and know you in times joyous and victory. You are indeed our Captain and the Commander of your Armies, and we don’t want to just see you during the battles, but are greatest desire is to experience you as our Father, our Abba. So in that regard, please complete the work you have begun in our lives. Fulfill your will and desire in us.
For many of us, tomorrow will be a day of worship and we do indeed worship you. We thank you for being there every moment. We are so grateful that, in every situation, we were able to look to you for help, for guidance and for comfort.
We set aside every care and concern as we go to sleep. And for those who must work tonight, give them the Grace they may need. Protect our police officers and emergency technicians. And keep firemen that must work overnight safe and that you would have mercy on those who may need help from any of those emergency help.
And come morning we will wake up refreshed and renewed in body, mind, and spirit. Tomorrow will be a Super Sunday, and we ask that your Spirit will help us maintain a focus on our need for YOU. All and all, we thank you and wish you a good night, as well. Thank you, Father, and Amen! ~Nickolas Hiemstra
