Ooh-wee! Father, we are going to sing our praises you this morning and bless your Holy Name! We will gather with our brothers and sisters to proclaim the good news of your salvation. We will declare your glory and the wonders of your presence in our lives. we will shout from the rooftops: “For great is the LORD and greatly to be praised; he is more to be feared than all gods.”
This morning we ask you to satisfy us through your loving-kindness, so will we rejoice and be glad all the days of our life. You will show us awesome things in your righteousness, O God of our salvation, O Hope of all the ends of the earth and of the seas that are far away. For you have given his angels charge over us, to keep us in all your ways.
You declared, “I am going to the Father”? And we that when are weeping and wailing, the world will rejoice; that there will be times of sorrowful, but our sorrow will turn to joy! In the same way that a woman suffers in childbirth, because her time has come; but when she has given birth to the child she forgets the suffering in her joy that a human being has been born into the world. Oh thank you, Lord, we may be sad now, but we can rejoice for we will see you again, and our hearts will be full of joy, with a joy no one can take from us. And until that day comes, we know that anything we ask from you, Father, you will grant in the name of your Son. Oh Glory to our God. Thank you, Father!
This is why we are glad when they say, “Come! Let us go to the house of the LORD!” Now our feet are standing within your gates, O Jerusalem. Jerusalem is built as a city that is at unity with itself; To which the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, the assembly of Israel, to praise the Name of the LORD. For there are the thrones of judgment,* the thrones of the house of David.
O Father, who by the glorious resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light: Grant that we, who have been raised with him, may abide in you presence and rejoice in the hope of eternal glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be dominion and praise for ever and ever. Amen.
Lord God, almighty and everlasting Father, you have brought us in safety to this new day: Preserve us with your mighty power, that we will not fall into sin, nor be overcome by adversity; and in everything we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen! ~Nickolas Hiemstra
