Closing A Tremendous Tuesday Evening

Father, open our lips, and our mouths will proclaim your praise. If you had requested it, we would have offered sacrifice, but you take no delight in burnt-offerings. The sacrifice you enjoy is a troubled spirit; a broken and contrite heart, you will not despise.

Out of the depths of our beings we called to you, O LORD, and you heard our voices; let your ears consider well our supplication. We lie down in peace; and at once we fall asleep; for only you, LORD, allow us to dwell in safety. In fact, even in the midst of chaos, we rejoice and lie in peace.

We will bless the LORD who gives us counsel; our heart teaches us, night after night. We have set the LORD always before us; because he is at our right hand will not fall. Our hearts rejoice, and our spirits rejoice; our body also shall rest in hope. For you will never abandon us nor let your holy ones see the Pit. You will continually show us the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy, and in your right hand are pleasures for evermore.

Even so come, Lord Jesus!

O God, who by the glorious resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light: Grant that I, who have been raised with him, may abide in his presence and rejoice in the hope of eternal glory; through Jesus Christ my Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be dominion and praise for ever and ever. Amen. Stir up Your power, we beseech You, O Lord, and come, that by Your protection we may deserve to be rescued from the threatening dangers of our sins and saved by Your deliverance. Who lives and reigns with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end. Amen.
